Origin One / Creative Technology

Expand human creative potential.

Origin One builds products, integrations and custom systems for creative people and teams. We shape technology around the experience of making—giving ideas room to grow and people a shared direction.

Tools shape what feels possible.

They shape how people think, explore and imagine what they can make. When the tools follow the idea, attention returns to exploration, judgment and craft, and people can attempt work they couldn’t make before. Saving time is one part of that value. Making more possible is the larger part.

Our first product

Back to One

Custom solutions

Custom technology for creative teams.

For brands, agencies, studios and in-house teams. We build workspaces, connections between tools, and focused interfaces shaped around how your people make the work. Sometimes that is a full application. Sometimes it is one focused improvement to a step you already have.

A footage library you can search by what’s in the shot

Problem
Years of Origin Point footage sat across network drives. Finding a usable shot meant remembering the project, then scrubbing through it.
What we built
Describe the shot. Results come back as individual shots with a still, timecodes and what is known about their rights, and a set of selects goes to the editor as a ready timeline.
Outcome
Pulling selects starts with a search instead of a hunt. Rights information stays with each select.

What we build

  • Workspaces from brief to delivery

    Problem
The brief is in one thread, the versions in a drive, the feedback in three places, and no one is sure which cut was approved.
    Solution
One space per campaign: the brief, each creative version with its notes, the approvals and the final formats.
    Outcome
The team and the brand see what is current and what is waiting on whom.
  • Connections between the tools you use

    Problem
A deadline moves, and someone retypes it into the tracker, the review tool and the delivery sheet.
    Solution
Connect those tools. Change the date once and the connected tools update, with a note of what changed and why.
    Outcome
Fewer repeated updates in the connected tools, and the reason for a change stays with it.
  • Focused interfaces and useful assistants

    Problem
Knowing whether a shoot or a launch is ready means checking five tools and a dozen messages.
    Solution
One focused view of what is ready and what is not. An assistant drafts follow-ups from sources it shows, and sends nothing until a person approves.
    Outcome
Readiness and follow-ups seen together, with each suggestion traceable to where it came from.

How we begin

  1. 01 Understand the work
  2. 02 Prototype an improvement
  3. 03 Test it with the team
  4. 04 Refine it through use

What to bring to a first conversation

  • What you are making, or would like to make possible.
  • The step where the process slows down or loses the thread.
  • The tools your team already uses.

No brief or specification needed. We start from the work.

Approach

For everything an idea can become.

Technology that moves with your creative process.

Creative work takes shape through exploration. Ideas change, people bring new perspectives, and what begins on a page becomes richer in the making. We build for that movement.

  1. 01

    The experience shapes the work.

The process deserves the same care as the result. Clear, responsive tools help people stay present and find a natural sense of flow.

  2. 02

    Shared intention supports creative freedom.

When the purpose and the reasons behind decisions are understood, each person can bring their own perspective and make choices that support the whole.

  3. 03

The work carries its learning forward.

Intentions, decisions and history travel with a project across people and tools, so each iteration deepens understanding.

Scene 1 · as written

INT. PLANT LAB — NIGHT. A potted plant, Leafa, falls in slow motion from a table. James, 30, in a lab coat, dives to catch her.

The director’s intention

Play it for comedy: a frantic scramble and a lucky save.

Green Thumb’s script, scene 1, with Leafa, James and the props tagged and linked to their cards.

01 · Script

The scene, and the intention above it

Scene 1 introduces Leafa and James. Their names are tagged as they’re written, so every later step can find them.

Step 1 of 6: Script.

In this example, the team chooses the approach. The intention and reasoning stay attached as the scene develops.

Concept demonstration. The script, art, boards, previs, edit and review images are real Green Thumb material from Back to One. The intention note, the flags and the saved choice illustrate the idea; they are not a specific feature.

Origin One × Origin Point

The people behind the technology.

Origin Point is the production practice that informs and tests what we build. Making films and campaigns shows us where creative work loses momentum; we build for that moment, and the next production shows us what to refine.

  1. 01

The work shows the problem. A handoff that loses the reasons behind a decision. An archive no one can search.

  2. 02

We build for it. Back to One for productions. A searchable library for the studio’s own footage.

  3. 03

Use shapes the next version. The tools go back on set, and what gets in the way on a long day shapes the next release.
